In recognition of Heart Health Month, State Senator Cristina Castro is partnering with Hanover Township and Ascension Health to provide heart health screenings at an upcoming event in Bartlett.
“My office is pleased to offer free health screenings again this February,” said Castro (D-Elgin). “Heart Health Month is more than just raising awareness — it’s about taking steps to maintain and improve our health and the wellbeing of our communities.”
The event will be held Saturday, Feb. 8 from 9-11 a.m. at the Hanover Township Senior Center located at 240 S. Illinois Route 59 in Bartlett. Hanover Township and Ascension Health will be providing blood pressure screenings, glucose and cholesterol testing, stroke risk assessments, diet and nutrition education, and more.
Appointments are required only for the cholesterol screenings; all other screenings are open to walk-ins. Those interested in attending should call 630-483-5665 to make a cholesterol screening appointment or with any questions.

En reconocimiento del Mes de la Salud del Corazón, la Senadora Estatal Cristina Castro se está asociando con Hanover Township y Ascension Health para proporcionar exámenes de salud del corazón en un evento próximo en Bartlett.
"Mi oficina se complace en ofrecer exámenes de salud gratuitos de nuevo este mes de febrero," dijo Castro (D-Elgin). "El Mes de la Salud del Corazón es algo más que la concienciación - se trata de tomar medidas para mantener y mejorar nuestra salud y el bienestar de nuestras comunidades."
El evento se llevará a cabo el sábado 8 de febrero de 9 a 11 a.m. en el Hanover Township Senior Center ubicado en 240 S. Illinois Route 59 en Bartlett. Hanover Township y Ascension Health ofrecerán exámenes de presión arterial, pruebas de glucosa y colesterol, evaluaciones de riesgo de derrame cerebral, educación sobre dieta, nutrición y más.
Sólo se requiere cita previa para las pruebas de colesterol; el resto de las pruebas están abiertas sin cita previa. Los interesados deben llamar al 630-483-5665 para programar una cita o hacer preguntas.
